Thanks for joining us for the last post of our journey through rental strollers. If you missed them, don’t forget to read part 1: Choosing the Right Stroller, Part 2: Stroller Accessories, or Part 3: Stroller Rental Insurance.

In the sea of stroller parking areas at Disney, how can you make your stroller stand out? Christine from Simple Stroller Rental highlights 5 different ways that she has seen in the parks:
1. Tie a brightly colored string, bandana, scarf, or ribbon to the handlebar.
2. Tie a brightly colored loufa sponge or tennis ball to the handlebar.
3. Attach glow sticks, or glow necklaces or bracelets to the handlebar.
4. Decorate your stroller with battery operated holiday lights.
5. Make and attach a personalized name tag to your stroller.
Tip: Disney cast members routinely rearrange strollers to make the best use of the stroller parking space. Your stroller will probably be moved from where you park it. DON’T PANIC! Look around, or ask a cast member.
Tip: Leave the bike locks and stroller locks at home. While it may seem like a good idea to lock your stroller up, cast members can and will remove the lock from your stroller, and move it to another location.

To help you customize your rental stroller, here are 9 different “license plates” that you can use. Simply download your favorite and add your name. Print it out and attach it to your stroller. Do You Need Stroller Insurance?

SSR-logo

Welcome back for part 3 of our stroller blog series. This week, Christine from Simple Stroller Rental, explains the benefits of optional rental insurance. When you rent a stroller from a private company, you become responsible for the stroller and all accessories. Anything that breaks, is lost, or stolen becomes your financial responsibility. Simple Stroller Rental offers a blanket insurance policy for $20 for each stroller, for the duration of your rental.

What optional insurance covers:

  • Accidental damage – the rental stroller fabric rips, a wheel is lost, or a strap snaps.
  • Theft – You park your stroller and it disappears. If you’ve purchased insurance, no problem. File a report with the theme park and Simple Stroller rental will deliver a new stroller. We will work with the theme park to recover the missing stroller. A family without rental insurance would be billed for the retail cost of a replacement stroller.

What optional insurance doesn’t cover:

  • Intentional misuse – You disassemble the safety harness and lose a few pieces. Unfortunately, the straps are not meant to be taken off, and insurance won’t cover situations like this.
  • Your child gets sick in the stroller or writes on the stroller – This type of damage is not covered by rental insurance, you may still be liable for an excessive cleaning fee, and/or replacement parts.
  • Lost accessories – Failure to return accessories, such as glider boards, are not covered under Simple Stroller’s insurance program, and you would be financially responsible.

Simple Stroller Rental highly recommends purchasing stroller insurance to give you piece of mind during your vacation. Don’t forget to join us next Friday, as we wrap up our series on rental strollers with personalizing your rental stroller. (Spoiler: Christine will even be including some freebies!)

Stroller Accessories by Simple Stroller Rental

SSR-logo

In part two of our stroller series, Christine from Simple Stroller talks: stroller accessories. You’ve decided to rent a stroller for your Disney vacation, now what accessories are available?

1. Parent consoles: We can’t imagine touring the theme parks without a cup holder and a place to stash your stuff, so Simple Stroller includes a parent console with all rentals, free of charge. The model varies per stroller, but most include insulated cup holders and a small area to keep necessities such as your cell phone and keys.

2. Rain covers: Simple Stroller offers rain covers, which securely fit over your stroller and child to keep them dry. Rain covers are recommended during summer months, when it rains daily in Central Florida, however some families are content to skip them, as they take up valuable storage space. If you do reserve a rain cover, Simple Stroller suggests placing the cover over your rental stroller before heading into your favorite attraction, so when you return everything will be cozy and dry.

3. Glider boards: Simple Stroller offers ride on boards that attach to the rear axle of select stroller models. These are useful if you have a small child (under 45 pounds) that will be walking for most of the trip, but might want to hop on for a ride for a short period of time. When not in use, glider boards clip out of the way.

Stroller Rental FAQ by Simple Stroller Rental

SSR-logo

Join Mouse Tales Travel each Friday throughout June for a four part series where Christine, co-owner of Simple Stroller Rental, shares everything you want to know about rental strollers. We asked and she answered: today’s blog post highlights the top 5 questions we receive from families asking about renting a stroller:

1. Do my kids really need a stroller at Disney?
Disney is a lot of walking. The average person walks 6 to 13 miles a day at Walt Disney World! A stroller is a must for preschool age children and younger. Even if your child has outgrown using a stroller for outings at home, you’ll appreciate not having to carry them around, a place to stash your necessities, and a space for them to relax in the shade to snack or nap. Renting a stroller often offers a higher quality stroller than you may have at home, and eliminates the need to drag a stroller around the airport.

2. Should I rent a single stroller? Two singles? A double stroller?
If you have two or more children riding in a stroller, we recommend a double. While larger than a single, our double strollers are small enough to easily be maneuvered through the heaviest crowds.

3. Will my 6 or 7 year old fit in a stroller?
Rental strollers are based on weight and height. Simple Stroller offers strollers that accommodate children from birth up to 47 inches and 65 pounds.

4. What’s the difference between the strollers?
The most popular stroller Simple Stroller rents is the Baby Jogger City Mini Series, available in a single or a double. For most families, this stroller works well. We also offer the upgraded the Baby Jogger City Mini GT Series in a single or a double. We recommend the upgraded version for two situations: 1) Your child or children are near the weight limit of the stroller. The GT version has larger wheels, which make it easier to push. 2) Someone that will be pushing the stroller is tall. The GT Series will save their back, as it has an adjustable height handlebar.

Simple Stroller also offers an infant carrier frame, a front/back Sit and Stand stroller, and a jogging stroller for those looking to get in a run or two on their vacation.

5. How do I get my stroller?
Simple Stroller makes it easy to get your stroller. Your rental stroller is clearly marked with your name and left at the Bell Service stand of the resort you are staying at, often before you arrive. When it is time to head home, return it to the Bell Service stand and we will pick it up.

Next up in our stroller series: Stroller accessories. Christine will highlight what accessories are available, and what you actually need.

About Three Fairy Princesses & Me

My name is Alicia and I am the owner and creator of Three Fairy Princesses Boutique. I am from Long Island, NY, where I live with my beautiful husband, Chris, and 3 gorgeous girls ages 3, 6, and 9.

I adore being a stay-at-home mom to my *Three Fairy Princesses*. I treasure every minute I am blessed to have with them. Our days are spent playing, reading, creating, learning, giggling and loving. I hope to give my girls some of the same wonderful memories I had growing up. My mom was always home painting, crocheting, sewing, or cooking something. I am thrilled to discover that my girls too have the *creative bug* inside them. Their brilliant little imaginations amaze me!

With 2 of my girls in school now, and baby still napping, I have found more time to create. I have decided to open my shop and get to work ~ from home. I dabble in party planning, cake decorating, and photography. I have tried my hand at sewing, but I am still a beginner. I have positively gained a new appreciation and love for all things handmade. Mostly everything I design is inspired by my daughters. I love dressing them up or buying pretty things for them to delight in. I just love all things *girlie*. If it’s glittery, sparkly, magical, shiny, princess, or pink, I need to have it. I love to find unique items and draw inspiration from them, especially if they are based on something I truly love, like the beach, country, or our girl’s beloved bedtime storybooks.

My Bows

I began making hair bows when my oldest daughter turned 5. She started kindergarten and I needed a way to spice up the navy and khaki school uniform. Quite satisfied with the outcome, I began to make more! Before I knew it, each one of my daughter’s precious little dresses had a bow to match; and then my nieces’ and then my friends’. Bow making has since become an obsession of mine.

In my collection, I have included a delightful mixture of whimsical storybook characters, familiar fairy tales, and a bit of nostalgia. I LOVE custom orders and I welcome you to contact me so we can work together to create an enchanting item we will both love, and you and your fairy princess will cherish for years to come.
