Pinning Your Way Around Disney

by MTT Krista, Krista Miller

For a hobby that appeals to those young and old, Disney Pin Trading is a neat way to collect unique, affordable souvenirs during your vacation.  Disney pins can be purchased at most all of the stores in the parks, resorts, and Downtown Disney.  Pins are often worn on neck lanyards so that you can display your treasures.  Cast Members throughout Walt Disney World Resort also wear pin lanyards.  If you’d like, you can exchange or trade your pins (one for one) with a Cast Member.

My children began pin trading when they were 6 and 8 years old.  It is a fantastic way for kids to learn to strike up a conversation with Cast Members and they usually come away with a great story to go along with the pin that they have just acquired.

Here’s a sneak peek at new pins being introduced at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in 2013:  New 2013 Disney Park Pins

Once returning from vacation, the pins can be displayed on a bulletin board in the kids’ rooms.  My daughters love looking at their boards and reminiscing about when and where they got each pin.  Happy Pinning!

Love that pin display! Is it just a cork board with fabric, or is it painted?
