More Fun in the Sun at Castaway Cay | Disney Cruise Line

Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, is my favorite Disney Cruise Line destination. That’s saying quite a bit since DCL sails to the Mexican Riviera, Alaska, the Mediterranean, the Baltic, the Caribbean, and more but Castaway Cay is pure DISNEY! Disney’s found a lot of other cruisers adore Castaway Cay as much as I do and they’ve spent 2010 enhancing an already fabulous destination to make it even better for DCL cruisers. Take a look at what’s been added this past year –

Our family’s most excited about Pelican Plunge and I’m personally looking forward to the trying out the new cabanas, though we’re debating Family Beach vs. Serenity Bay Beach for a grownup day in the sun and sand. Since our Princess Mouse adores the kids programs so much, we’re not sure how much use we’d get out of the “family” beach aspect of the Family Beach cabana!

As DCL prepares to welcome the Disney Dream (2011) and Disney Fantasy (2012), the addition of a second Cookies location is a great idea! There’s an additional adults-only location at Serenity Bay Beach already but leave it to Disney to consider that Cookies Too will be much appreciated by families on the larger ships. No one likes to stand in line for lunch with hungry, cranky children (or dads)!
